Screen Shot 2018-05-15 at 12.52.30 pmLawrence Hirsch travelled to Russia for the first time in five years, his 7th visit to the Far East since Celebrate Messiah began work there in 2004.

He was accompanied by our Russian-speaking outreach worker Rita Ivenskis, and volunteer Fay.

In Artyom, near Vladivostok, the team visited the congregation we planted about 7 years ago. "They are doing very well in challenging conditions. Jewish people have come to faith and many have been baptised," Lawrence said.

In Khabarovsk, the team met with a Jewish believing-family, hoping to be able to encourage them as they start a ministry to reach out to the 20,000 Jewish people in this city of 600,000.

In Birobidzhan, the heart of the Jewish Autonomous Region, they encouraged the workers in the congregation we helped plant, reaching out to up to 10,000 Jewish people still living there. Please pray for the work we're doing.

"It is humbling to see that so many people's lives have been touched simply because we've tried to be obedient to the Lord's call to bring the Gospel to our Jewish people," Lawrence said.
